Back to Cool 2009 (I did mean Cool)

Today the ninos' returned to their government school (Shouts to Neal Bortz). While it's joyous, its also a day of loss for me. I started this blog to allow my ninos' to share parts of their lives in a manner that their grandmothers could easily access and proudly share with others. On (Roman calendar) July 20th, 2009 one of their grandmothers, Gloria Stanton, became a beloved ancestor. As some of my more Churchy folks might say, I won't be able to share these moments with her in the 'natural'. As I exited the house today to check the weather I noted the ever-so-slight drizzle and connected that light rain with the pouring of libation....... In worship of the Almighty, in worship of our Savior, in remembrance of my Mother-In-Law...... As the kiddies left the bus-stop eagerly dancing in their seats with jubilance towards a new school year the rain slowly intensified. "Fresh water keeps me well, fresh water opens the way, fresh water is my sustainer, fresh water comes from above. Thank you Almighty for fresh water in the form of Gloria." As I walked into the house fighting the mosquitoes I became uplifted as I thought to myself how 'Cool' it was for my kids to have so much joy in anticipation of school. Gloria would have laughed and smiled (in the natural) at the coolness of her grandchildren. I'm sure she's laughing, smiling, and worshiping in the 'spiritual'. Today they both woke up up early. She entered our bed at about 4:15 A.M. flopping down in between us forcing me almost to the floor. I looked over and she was sound asleep, or seemed to be. She then began saying something about a bad dream yet her eyes remained closed. 15 minutues later he walks in complaining of having a bad dream. I directed him too the couch as Lil' Mama was already putting her elbow into my side. They wake up later and start singing and laughing and this Pops 'can't get no-kinda sleep.' After becoming fully awake it was nice being awakended by the kiddies rather than battling with them to awaken. Have a great day Ninos ! Make us proud.

Yesterday Rukiya was chosen as the Windsor Oaks "Citizen of the month" for September 2008. In October 2006 Baldwin-Akin was chosen as the Windsor Oaks Elementary. Rukiya seems to be enjoying her move to public school. As I was picking them up yesterday from the Kids-Quest after school program both of the Lil' ones ran up and hugged me. She stated "I had the lunch and I bought a snack today ! Tommorow I might even try the breakfast !" I then heard "Let's go Dad !" from the Lil' Man who was already outside of the door ready to run to the car.

My second week in public school !

Today was good but three people had to move their sticks (they got in trouble). Plus they got better (they did better later). Thursday I had a headache and went to sleep in the nurses' office. Daddy came to the school and gave me headache medicine. On the bus Ms. W is the bus driver. Well, she is good. She does breakfast off the bus first, then kindergarten, then first grade, then the other children.

On Monday I had a good day. Everybody got a smarties. Darlyn had to go to red and was disrupting the class. School is really fun. I like having Mrs. Crowell.

Third day of school for the 2008-2009 school year. The son stated that school was good yesterday. He had a unencumbered chance to play with his friend (without his friends cousin spoiling the fun). He also described his teacher as "one of the best" without further detail. The daughter said that she loves her new school and can't wait to buy more (O.M.G.) clothes. She had become used to wearing uniforms everyday and I'm sure she loves the freedom to wear her Hannah Montana shoes, shirt, socks, etc..... Disney has made some money off of us this year. She sat in the seat by her self as the bus drove off after sitting with our neighbor Miles for the past two days. I wondered if she would be o.k. until she waved as the bus took off smiling and obviously singing.Another great day ! (Push the "play" button below to watch the video)

Here we go again. Lil' man's going to the third grade. Lil' mama's going to the first grade. This will be lil' mama's first time in a public school. I'm so glad that we placed them both in New Light Baptist School of Excellence for their first formative years. Today they were ret'-to-go ! Akin woke right up when I entered the room and Rukiya woke easily excited about what she was going to...................wear. I'm in trouble, I see it coming. He has had enough of being with Daddy as Daddy goes from meeting to meeting and just wants to see his (male) friends and hang out with the fellas. The Wifey changed her schedule (she didn't want to trust the first day to me) supervised the morning...... I secretly love it when she's around in the mornings. Call it Daddy's time off. Here's to a great day !
